Spectrum Guard ® Non-radioactive Handheld Explosives & Narcotics Detector IMS-311 (thereafter as “Spectrum Guard IMS-311”）is non-radioactive trace level explosives and narcotics detector. Based on ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) principle, Spectrum Guard IMS-311 uses a new non-radioactive ionization source to accurately detect and analyze traces of explosives and narcotics particles or vapors simultaneously, with high detection sensitivity of nanograms. When using a special swab to wipe the surface of any suspicious object and inserting into the device, Spectrum Guard IMS-311 will display explosives or narcotics’ category and specific compounds.


Spectrum Guard® IMS-311 is easy to carry and operate, especially flexible for on-site detection. It’s widely used for explosives and narcotics detection in civil aviation, rail transits, Customs, border ports and crowd-gathering places, or used as forensic evidence examination and identification tool for law enforcement.
